3 things I found out

1) The good and bad effects of the one child policy and two child policy

2) The reasons why the policies were implemented

3) The reasons why the policies were canceled or changed

2 perceptions I gained

1) I realised that being a parent is hard as you have to support both the grandparents and the child

2) I realised that having lesser children will affect the government in the amount of money they gain

1 question I have

1) Is there is batter solution to control the population

Reflection on Chingay 2016

Personally, I think that the purpose of the chingay performance 2016 was to bring everyone in Singapore closer together. When I heard that we were going to watch the chingay preview, I was very elated as I've never been to one before. However, based on what I've seen on the television, the atmosphere during the chingay performance was very lively. Furthermore, when the emcees ask the audience to shout "ONE SINGAPORE!", everyone were very united and I found that very admirable. I remembered when we reached the F1 track where the chingay preview was held, all of us were very excited and were curious about the performance. When the performance started, I was very proud as seeing all the Singaporeans, even Singapore residents from other countries willingly participate in chingay 2016 made me realize how much they love Singapore. After the performance, I felt very contented to be able to watch the chingay 2016 preview. I know that the performers has trained for many months to get this performance ready. It also got me into thinking about how I can contribute to Singapore as a Singaporean. I think that the organizer of chingay 2016 has been successful in bringing out the purpose as all of us learnt the importance of loving Singapore, and that we also have to depend on ourselves to make Singapore have a brighter future

Reflection on happiness and poverty

What does happiness mean? To me, happiness is not about whether you are rich or poor. Happiness is when you bond with your family members, go out with friends or just do what you enjoy. Does money mean happiness? No! In many of the dramas I have watched, most of the wealthy families are the ones who end up the most unhappiest. Therefore, I think that happiness is based on what you truly love, and not based on wealth

Reflection on RV60

During the rv60 trainings, I heard many complaints from my friends and seniors about how many dates there were for training and that it was very boring doing the same thing over and over again. However, after going through so much, on the day itself I felt that it was an honor to be able to perform in the rv60 mass display. I used to think how boring and lame rv60 was and how it was a waste of our time. But after the actual performance, me and my friends realized that it was actually a fruitful and fun journey and we were all very happy about how successful we were in the performance. It was truly a memorable event that will forever be remembered in our hearts

This picture was taken just outside the principal office. It shows a sculpture. I found that this sculpture is very important as it is a gift from our sister school in China. Although we walk past it everyday, we do not even bother about it. However I feel that this gift his a lot of meaning embedded in it. This sculpture shows that we are a very interactive school as we even know schools from other countries. Although it looks like an ordinary sculpture, it actually means a lot to the school and it also displays how we succeeded in being an English-Chinese school. Due to the OELPs the school organised, our school is able to collaborate with schools from China. Whenever I walk past this sculpture, I feel very honoured to have come to this school and I am also proud of being an RVian.

✨Self-introduction

My name is Jun Feng and I am from class 2J of 2016. My CCA is volleyball as I am very sporty and like to exercise myself. My main hobby is to play sports. I love to play sports as I get to learn lots of things like perseverance, teamwork and synergy. Not only do I get to learn this values, I also get to exercise myself and to keep fit and live healthily.

My other favourite hobby is to game. Usually when I get very tired from studying I would just turn on the laptop and play games or just play phone games. Many people think that playing games are not good for your studies but I personally feel that as long as you don't get addicted, its fine as you get to learn something from gaming too.
